Sorbic acid (potassium) can effectively inhibit the activity of mold, yeast and aerobic bacteria, and can prevent the growth and reproduction of harmful microorganisms such as botulinum, staphylococcus, salmonella, etc., but it also affects anaerobic spores and eosinophils. Lactobacillus and other beneficial microorganisms are almost ineffective, their role in inhibiting development is stronger than that of bactericidal action, so as to effectively extend the preservation time of foods and maintain the flavor of the original food.

Function & Application about Sorbic Acid:
Potassium sorbate is an organic acid preservative in cosmetics. The addition amount is generally 0.5%. Can be mixed with sorbic acid. Potassium sorbate is easily soluble in water and convenient to use. However, the pH of its 1% aqueous solution is 7-8, which tends to increase the pH of the cosmetic product.
